Turning the Camera Around and Let's Talk About Headshots -- Denver Area Photography

So we got here!

To Denver, I mean.  :)

More on that later, though.  First I want to back up a bit and post some things from Philadelphia that never made it to the blog just because moving cross-country with a 2-year-old is apparently the most insane thing you can ever do.

So here we go! I'm starting with Carrie's Head Shot Shoot! :)

See, Carrie is also a photographer.  (If you're in the Philly area, you can find her sweet, airy captures HERE)  And I LOVE shooting other photographers.  Why? Well, because all of us hate to be in front of the camera.  Okay, maybe not all of us.  But the good majority, for sure! It doesn't matter if we're gorgeous women (see example 1- Carrie herself); one of the reasons we like being photographers is because we love being BEHIND the camera.  As a result, we forget that we need to let ourselves see ourselves as beautiful- the same way we see our clients!  So I get a little excited when other photographers ask me to do their head shots.  Okay, I get a LOT excited.

You can do a lot with a head shot.  They're kind of dismissed as boring pictures of a person smiling a fake smile with fake light in front of a fake background.  But if done well, they don't have to be anything like that.  If done well, a head shot can simply be an honest picture of the true beauty a person posesses.  And they don't have to be so boxed in, either- especially for things like web site portraits.

And with that, I've chatted enough.  But something to think about, right? Headshots = seeing yourself as beautiful, NOT boring.

Now on with Carrie's beautiful self!

Carrie, you are simply gorgeous, inside and out.  I'm SO glad that we had a chance to become friends before I left Philly, and I wish you the very, very best in your artistic future!

xo,

Katie
